Faye Cassia

As an educator, I am privileged to help my students overcome often formidable obstacles—social, emotional, physical and systemic barriers to success.  My greatest joy as a teacher is to see students succeed despite all the odds, finding the strength within themselves and the support here at AVS to achieve their goals.  I teach because I believe that education changes lives, that in nurturing our children, we create a better future.  I am proud to model lifelong learning for my own sons and grandsons, having returned to complete a BA w/ distinction at the age of 40, and an MEd in counselling psychology at the age of 50.  Left to my own devices, I can most often be found in my garden, or tackling yet another renovation project!
